Start with your commercial invoice, or fill in the form by hand. The estimate on the right updates as you go and shows what could still change it.

1. Start with your invoice

Upload the supplier’s commercial invoice (PDF or photo). We read the items, prices, Incoterm, port and cargo details and fill in the form. You can edit anything.

2. Your goods

One row per product. Duty is worked out per product, and so is your cost per unit.

3. Shipment

4. Cargo

LCL freight is charged on whichever is larger: cubic metres, or tonnes. Your packing list shows both.

Or work out the volume from the size of one package (metres)

5. Customs, GST and cover

Most Chinese-made goods enter duty-free with one.
Cargo insurance (optional)

Transport insurance is not included in freight prices. Cover prices here are examples while we finalise an insurer.

7. Where should we send it?

A broker checks your details and sends a firm quote, usually within one business day.

Questions

Before you ask

How accurate is the estimate?

It uses current sea freight, port, delivery and customs entry rates for China to Christchurch, and GST at 15%. The estimate flags anything that could move it, like cargo size, certificate of origin or delivery outside Christchurch. A broker’s firm quote replaces it.

What is a certificate of origin and why does it matter?

Under the China–New Zealand free trade agreement, goods made in China can enter duty-free when the supplier provides an origin certificate. Without one, duty applies at the general rate for the product, between 0% and about 10% for most goods.

What does “cost per unit” include?

The product price, international freight, New Zealand port and delivery charges, customs entry fee, duty, insurance if you add it, and GST (unless you tell us you’re GST-registered). Shared costs are split across your products by value.

Is insurance included?

No. Transport insurance is optional and is shown as a separate line so you can see its effect on your per-unit cost. Prices shown are examples while we finalise an insurer.

Do you do full containers and air freight?

Full container loads are quoted by a broker. Use the FCL option and we’ll pick it up from there. Air freight is not available yet.
